MUYE naturalist living room with solid wood furniture, ceramic vessels and woven details

LIVING OBJECTS & SPACES

Many materials.
One way of living.

Furniture gives a room its structure. Rugs, vessels, baskets, lighting, stone, linen and metal give it rhythm, use and memory.

THE MUYE COLLECTION

A natural home is built in layers — some made in our own wood workshop, others found through material, craft and the hands behind them.

The living collection is continuously edited rather than fixed. Exact dimensions, finishes and availability are confirmed for each enquiry; the descriptions below explain the material families and the role each one plays in a room.

01 · WOOL & TEXTILES

Handwoven rugs,
soft architecture.

Afghan handwoven wool rugs bring pattern, colour and the irregular rhythm of handwork into rooms built around natural wood. They soften the floor and acoustics, while making an otherwise quiet interior feel collected rather than completed all at once.

The textile layer extends to woven cushions and cotton or linen table runners — small, useful surfaces that can change the temperature of a room without changing its structure.

02 · CLAY

Vessels shaped
by earth and fire.

Rustic ceramic vases, sculptural vessels and handmade tableware give still life to shelves, tables and quiet corners. Variation in the rim, brushed surface and firing is kept visible; no two pieces need to repeat one another exactly.

Some hold branches or flowers. Others remain empty and become objects in their own right. Bowls, cups and plates bring the same material honesty into the rituals of tea and dining.

03 · LIGHT

Lighting as
the final material.

Distinctive lighting is not added after the room is finished; it decides how every other material is seen. MUYE selects paper lanterns, wooden lights, ceramic and glass table lamps, and metal pendants for a warm, low-glare atmosphere.

Individual lamps mark a table or reading corner. Repeated pendants and lanterns create a larger rhythm across high spaces.

04 · RATTAN & NATURAL FIBRE

Useful forms,
woven by hand.

Natural rattan baskets bring breathable storage to the home: for textiles, firewood, toys, market produce or the objects of an ordinary day. Handles, weave and slight variation reveal how each form was made.

Trays and smaller fibre pieces sit easily beside ceramics and solid wood, adding a lighter texture without feeling temporary.

05 · STONE & MINERAL

Found landscapes,
held in stone.

Stone slab art turns natural veining into a quiet landscape, framed so the material can be read without added ornament. Freestanding stone objects and mineral forms bring weight and stillness to a shelf, floor or table.

The surface is the image: fissure, vein, sediment and colour remain the subject.

06 · METALWORK

Weight, patina
and a small gleam.

Hand-cast iron candleholders add sculptural weight to a table. Copper and other metal objects bring a changing surface that develops through touch and time. Used sparingly, metal sharpens the softer textures of wood, wool, fibre and clay.

In lighting, polished or darkened metal directs the glow and gives the room a deliberate point of contrast.

07 · SOLID WOOD & SPATIAL PIECES

The structure behind the room.

MUYE designs and makes its solid-wood furniture, storage, doors, screens and spatial timber in its own Bishan workshop. This is the stable layer around which rugs, vessels, light and collected objects can change over time.

A MUYE interior does not ask every object to look alike. It asks them to share a respect for natural material, useful form, visible craft and long use.
